Our Sitter Service Program provides a carer who volunteers
their time to care for your child with an intellectual disability, and their siblings, while you take care of your appointment.

Knowledgeable carers are police cleared, familiar with Activ policies and have a comprehensive understanding of the Disability Services Standards.

Our Sitter Service program utilises a team of dedicated volunteers so families are able to access three to five hours in-home respite per week.

Sitter Service volunteers are reimbursed for reasonable out-of-pocket expenses such as fuel, telephone calls, etc. This cost is negotiated between the volunteer and the family direct, and is capped at $20.00. These details are to be confirmed prior to the respective Sitter Service booking.
