Activ is a major service provider in the disability sector and is funded by the Commonwealth and State Governments to provide services to those in need, regardless of membership status. As such, there are no prerequisite membership requirements to access services.
Any person from the community is welcome to apply to Activ for membership.
The benefits of membership are:

- Access to Activ Library Services at no cost
- A copy of Activ's newsletter, Activ News
Activ members are entitled to vote at meetings of Activ and in elections within Activ. Voting entitlements are:
Family Member- 2 nominated people - 1 vote each
Family - Concession (Pension) - 2 nominated people - 1 vote each
Family Member for Life (2 votes)
Ordinary Member - 1 vote
Ordinary - Concession - 1 vote
Ordinary Member for Life - 1 vote
Members under the age of 18 are not eligible to vote.

There is an annual membership fee.
A 50% reduction in the membership fee applies in respect of pensioners. However, this does not apply to Corporate Members and Members for Life.

All prices include GST.
With the exception of Members for Life, fees are for a 12-month period commencing on 1 January. A person who joins Activ for the first time after 30 June in any year shall be required to pay only 50% of the above fee for that membership year (this excludes Membership for Life and membership renewals). Half-rates do not apply to Life membership.
