Danielle Newport - Chief Executive Officer

In her role as CEO and Managing Director of Activ, Danielle is committed to upholding Activ’s purpose of enabling people living with disability to achieve a better life.

Prior to Danielle’s appointment to the role of CEO and Managing Director of Activ in April 2016, she held the positions of Chief Financial Officer (2011 - 2013), General Manager of Strategy and Finance (2013 - 2014) and General Manager Strategy (2014 - 2016). These roles have provided Danielle with a unique and varied perspective into the state's largest disability service organisation and she has committed to assuming her current role of CEO with the determination, passion and enthusiasm worthy of an organisation that has provided such a valued service to the community for over 65 years.

In addition to Danielle’s roles at Activ, she is also Director/Company Secretary of Perth Theatre Company, a proud Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and a qualified accountant (CPA) and Chartered Secretary (ACIS) with over 15 years’ experience working in senior corporate and finance roles.

Danielle sits on the Board of Activ, and is a member of the Audit & Risk, Governance & Nominations and Service Advisory Committees. 


 

 

 

Amanda Lovelock - Executive Manager Operations South

Amanda joined Activ in 2013 and was appointed Executive Manager of Operations South in January 2018. Prior to this appointment, Amanda had served as Disability Development Coordinator (2013), Manager Service Development (2013-2016), and Head of Quality, Safety, Health and Environment (2016-2018). 

An experienced leader with 25 years’ history working in the Disability Services sector, including over 10 years in senior leadership positions, Amanda thrives on developing high performing teams and influencing change through strong interpersonal communication. Amanda’s mix of experience, sector exposure and skill allows her to contribute a unique insight into the ever changing disability sector. 

Amanda is passionate about continuous improvement and is committed to designing better processes and services that lead to better outcomes for our customers.

As the Executive Manager Operations South, Amanda oversees State and Commonwealth funded services delivered by Activ, in both traditional, WANDIS and NDIS operated environments. Her role focusses on areas in the Perth South Metro area, Esperance, Kalgoorlie, Great Southern, and the South West. 

   

Michelle Bilson - Executive Manager Operations North

Michelle joined Activ in April 2014 and was appointed Executive Manager Operations North in October 2018.

 

Michelle has more than 25 years’ experience in the not for profit sector, including more than 10 years’ in senior leadership roles. Michelle is a strong leader whose approach to leadership involves coaching direct reports to ensure high performance and a team focus on fostering and maintaining relationships with customers and other key stakeholders.

 

Michelle’s broad experience enables the delivery of high quality integrated services that provide commercially sustainable customer outcomes, focused on fostering collaboration and optimising opportunities across all teams.

 

As the Executive Manager Operations North, Michelle oversees State and Commonwealth funded services delivered by Activ to our customers in both traditional and NDIS operated environments. Her role covers the east metro, north-east metro and north metro areas, in addition to the Wheatbelt and the Mid-West.

   

Tracy Newman - Executive Manager People & Quality

Tracy joined Activ in 2016 after having held senior roles in both Human Resources and Commercial Leadership across a number of large consumer led organisations.

Prior to Tracy’s appointment to the role of Executive Manager People and Quality in February 2018, Tracy held the position of Head of Organisational Capability at Activ. Since joining Activ Tracy has led the team to implement a number of strategic capability initiatives to ensure we deliver safe and quality services through our people.

As Executive Manager People & Quality, Tracy is responsible for strategically guiding and leading the delivery of best practice People and Quality outcomes across Activ. The portfolio focuses specifically on strategic human resources, capability development, health and safety, customer liaison and quality. 

Tracy holds a Master of Business Administration with a major in Human Resource Management. Tracy is committed to working closely with our people to ensure they can work safely and enable our customers living with disability to pursue a better life.


   

Ronnie Hurst - Executive Manager Customer Engagement

Ronnie joined Activ in October 2018 as Executive Manager Customer Engagement. His motivation was to work in a sector that can provide an immediate, positive impact on the lifestyle of its customers.

Ronnie has a strong background in sport, recreation and community development, including being the Project Director for the new Perth Stadium. Prior to that Ronnie was Director, Strategic Projects at the Department of Sport and Recreation, where he provided strategic leadership and advice to key departmental projects.

He served on the board of VenuesWest for 11 years, which involved responsibility for Perth Stadium, Perth Arena and the redeveloped nib Stadium.

Ronnie’s professional skills in sport, recreation and community development complement his strong sporting background. He represented Scotland in springboard and highboard diving at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, Canada, and has also represented Edinburgh and Western Australia in Rugby Union.


     

Benjamin Jardine - Executive Manager Innovation

Benjamin was appointed as Executive Manager Innovation in November 2018. He brings with him a wealth of experience working with social purpose organisations to achieve transformative growth and impact across Australia.

He is passionate about the role non-profits can play in shaping a future society that is inclusive to all, working alongside customers to bring new thinking and new innovations to address the most significant challenges facing Australian society.

Prior to joining Activ, he led Strategic Growth for the Silver Chain Group, and before then he was the Chief Innovation and Development Officer for Ability Centre Australasia.

Benjamin has a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from the University of Western Australia, is a Tracey Horton Scholar, Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and Foundation Member of the Social Impact Measurement Network of Australia.

     

Ann Dawson - Executive Manager Finance & Governance

Ann joined Activ in May 2019 as Executive Manager of Finance and Governance.

Ann brings highly strategic finance executive experience to her role with almost 30 years of experience managing mid-sized organisations, predominantly in the healthcare sector.  

Her experience includes leading financial and project management of large construction and redevelopment projects, business analysis and development and strategic management.

Prior to joining Activ, Ann was the Chief Financial Officer at the Royal Flying Doctor Service of WA. She has also worked for the Anglican Diocese of Perth, Craigcare and Amana Living.

A certified public accountant, Ann holds a Bachelors’ degree in Business, majoring in accounting and business law and also holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
