Volunteering with Activ... together we can
Activ volunteers play an integral role in the organisation supporting people living with disability to pursue a better life.
Volunteering is a great way to get involved in your community, make a positive impact, gain work experience, increase your knowledge and skills and have fun!

We have volunteering opportunities in:
Activ Recreation department provides daytime and overnight activity/holiday programs for adults living with disability. Program volunteers support adults living with disabilities on Saturday outings, weekends and longer holidays travelling locally, intrastate, interstate and on international adventures.
As a Recreation volunteer, you will be assisting Activ customers with social support; engaging and conversing; physical support with personal hygiene; assistance with medications, food choices, clothing selections and money handling. Customers are ratioed according to their level of need – from 1:1 to 1:4.
Activ Recreation holidays and outings are always group events with a maximum of 20 people.
Another recreation volunteering opportunity is as a program bus driver, driving buses on holidays and outings locally, intrastate or interstate. You must have an MR or HR manual licence.
We hold various events across the state that require support from dedicated volunteers. These include the Chevron City to Surf for Activ WA Series, the Hillview Charity Golf Day and the Activ Artspace Exhibition. Roles vary from office support, to volunteering at a water station, to assisting at an art exhibition! Get in touch to see what's coming up!
Activ Foundation provides a range of services to people living with disability including Accommodation, Business Services, Respite, Home and Community Care (HACC) and People Skills and Community (PS&C). Activ’s service volunteers work along side our paid staff in our community hubs to support our customers – they are literally an additional pair of hands and eyes and help in a range of activities across the organisation including music, swimming, Mens Shed visits, drum circle, sailing etc.
Activ’s companion volunteers give their time and friendship to adults living with disability so that they can do the things the rest of us take for granted.
Our expectation is that our companion volunteers are long term positions as we take consistency and continuity for our customers seriously.
We have a number of opportunities for companion volunteers across the metropolitan region, from gardening, baking, coffee outings and library visits.
We provide orientation to the organisation and training as necessary. These positions would suit Centrelink volunteering obligations or people with a couple of hours to spare each week, and those with an interest and passion for adults living with disability.
Through corporate volunteering, we offer you and your colleagues the chance to enrich the lives of our customers and have fun doing it. We have opportunities ranging from the Activ City to Surf event, to specially tailored activities at our sites to suit your group and availability.
