A person with an impairment that is likely to be permanent and the impairment makes it difficult to take part in everyday activities can access the Scheme. A person needs to meet disability or early intervention requirements, as well as age and residence requirements.
You need to be aged less than 65 years when you make an application to the NDIS.
You need to:
- Reside in Australia
- Be either an Australian citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen who is a Protected Special Category Visa holder
- Be currently living in the Perth Hills area
If you are an existing client of a disability service, the NDIA will contact you about transitioning into the Scheme. Existing national and state-based services and supports will continue until eligible people start their plan with the NDIS.
