The Royal Commission is now taking public submissions

Posted on July 31, 2019

The Royal Commission is now accepting public submissions.

Submissions received at this time will form part of the commission’s records. This means that if you decide to make a submission at this time, the information you provide will be publicly available.

Confidential submissions will be possible in the near future, but are not currently being accepted.

If you wish to make a submission you can do so in a number of ways:

For more information about making a submission, you can visit the Royal Commission website.

An official information line has been established to support people with disability, families, carers and others to engage with the Royal Commission.

The number is 1800 517 199 and information is available from 9am to 5pm AEDT, Monday to Friday.

An email address for enquiries is also available at
DRCenquiries@royalcommission.gov.au.

The Royal Commission is seeking information on a range of issues including:

  • Incidents of violence, abuse, neglect and/or abuse
  • Complaint process and outcomes
  • Access to places and services
  • Quality and safety of disability specific services
  • Best practice and innovation

Activ fully supports the intent and implementation of the commission. The importance for victims of abuse to be heard and acknowledged cannot be underestimated. Activ condemns, in the strongest terms, all forms of abuse of people with disability. Click here to read our Statement and Guiding Principals in response to the Royal Commission.

Anyone can make a submission and we encourage anyone who wishes to participate to do so.

Activ will welcome any advice or direction from the Royal Commission that helps to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our customers and staff members.
