Current Volunteering Opportunities

The Activ volunteer is no ordinary volunteer. Activ volunteers dedicate their time to assist people living with disability to live the life they choose. If you think you have what it takes to be an Activ volunteer, here are current opportunities that are available for application now.

All our volunteers receive mandatory training including Orientation, Manual Handling and First Aid.

Metro Companion Volunteers

- A male customer in Dianella needs someone to take him to the Gym one evening each week.
Hours: 4:00PM – 6:00PM; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday

- A male customer in High Wycombe who loves his footy is looking for someone to take him to the movies, or out to the pub for a meal and a beer. 
Hours: Hours to suit the volunteer (a couple of hours a week or fortnight would be ideal).

- A male customer who lives in Beechboro would like help with reading and writing letters.
Hours: Hours to suit the volunteer (a couple of hours a week or fortnight would be ideal).

- A male customer who lives in High Wycombe is looking for someone to go cycling, attend movies or go bowling with him. 
Hours: Hours to suit the volunteer; Saturdays or Sundays. 

 

Regional Companion Volunteers

- A male customer who resides in Eaton is a confident, outgoing, fun-loving and independent man. He loves bowling and going out to eat. He would need assistance with handling and recording money and submitting receipts.Hours: One day a fortnight, on a Saturday or Sunday.
 

Activ Learning and Discovery Centre (ALDC) 

- The ALDC in East Vic Park is looking for someone to assist with the sensory garden. A sensory garden is a small collection of plants and items with varying textures, shapes, colours etc. to help stimulate senses. With all tools to be provided, this is perfect for those green thumbs out there!
Hours: Hours to suit the volunteer.

South West 

- Green Door Entertainment program is a social entertainment program for Adults living with disability in the Bunbury area, held on the last Friday of every month at the Activ Bunbury site. Activities include discos, music and puppetry. You will assist with the setup, running and pack down of each event.  There may be the opportunity for additional planning and organisation of these social events in conjunction with the organising committee.
Hours: 4:00PM – 10:00PM; on the last Friday of each month.
