Yesterday, the Activ Learning and Discovery Centre (ALDC) team attended the Town of Cambridge Christmas at Lake Monger Festival. For the first time in the events history, the ALDC along with the Town of Cambridge created a Sensory Zone – a dedicated quiet place intended for children with disability and their parents to relax and play with a variety of sensory resources.
Feedback from last year’s event indicated that parents of children with disability needed a space which encouraged relaxation and helped avoid sensory overload.
Throughout the event, hundreds of children and parents enjoyed the sensory resources and created masterpieces at the playdough station.
