This program promotes confident and safe medication assistance, a nationally accredited unit providing you with the skills and knowledge to assist with the administration of medication as a support worker in the care industry.

Course includes

Learn how to prepare and provide medication assistance or support to individuals who self-administer medication, with training in precise and safe medication assistance skills including medication administration protocols, hands-on practice, and essential documentation skills.

When supporting customers in the administration of medications, it is your duty to provide safe, high-quality services, and to safeguarding customer health and wellbeing.

The skills learned in this training are applied in accordance with legislation, regulation, government policy and industry guidelines.

Course requirements

Post training, to gain accreditation a workplace assessment must be completed and submitted. Workplace assessments involve providing examples of specific tasks you have completed in a workplace or structured volunteering environment, signed off by a Workplace Representative from your workplace.
