On the 29th of September Activ held our annual Stars and Galaxy Awards Night, to recognise our amazing staff who go above and beyond to support our customers and each other. Staff recognised at the awards night have shown a strong commitment to Activ’s values and strategy, and we are truly proud to have them on our team.
Congratulations to the winners of 2022 Annual Stars and Galaxy Awards!
2022 Stars Award winner – Emma McKenna, team leader, for her hard work in opening a new accommodation site for nine of Activ’s customers, allowing them to live independently with drop in support. This new service will allow these customers to have more independence, choice and control in their lives while still receiving the support they need to achieve their goals. Emma strongly demonstrated the ‘Dare to Try’ value as this was a large project and a new kind of service offering for Activ.
2022 Stars Award runner up – Peta Chivers, support worker, for her dedication and commitment to Activ and our customers. Peta is committed to supporting customers to take on new activities, with the example of taking one customer to swim ability sessions, which was originally a challenge. As a result of the success, Peta now takes two customers to enjoy swimming activities. She encompasses each and every Activ value and role models this well above and beyond her role. The morale of her customers has increased and the connection and culture has shifted upon Peta’s arrival to Activ.
2022 Galaxy Award winner – South Metro support worker team, for the consistent way the team goes above and beyond to ensure that Frank can live independently within his home and develop independent living skills.
2022 Galaxy Award runner up – Malone St accommodation team, for their commitment to supporting community access and inclusion for their customers. Whether it’s supporting customers to organise holidays, attend football games or getting involved at their local community garden, the team work hard to enable our customers to make genuine social connections within their local communities.
