COVID-19 Service and Policy Update – 2 March

From 12.01am, Thursday 3 March, the WA Government will introduce upgraded public health and social measures state-wide to help manage the surge of Omicron COVID-19 cases and keep Western Australians safe.

You can read about the new public health and social measures on the WA Government website.

To comply with the current guidelines from the WA Government and to further ensure the safety of our customers and staff, Activ has made the decisions outlined below.

If circumstances change and further public health and social measures are announced by the WA Government, we will communicate changes to you as soon as possible.

As always, our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our customers and staff.

In addition to the requirement that all Activ staff, including supported employees, are up to date with the WA Government mandated COVID-19 vaccinations, the following measures are now in place.

Accommodation services

  • All staff will wear masks, check in using the ServiceWA or SafeWA app or attendance sheet, and have their temperatures checked.
  • Activ customers are encouraged to wear masks and be vaccinated.
  • *Visitors are required to wear masks, provide proof of vaccination and check in using the ServiceWA or SafeWA app or attendance sheet, and have their temperatures checked.
  • Visits to Activ’s accommodation homes are limited to two visitors per resident per day. Exemptions apply for compassionate reasons. The use of technology (video calls, phone etc) is encouraged for visits, where appropriate.
  • Activ-initiated visits to accommodation homes are restricted to essential visits only, and the use of technology is encouraged for meetings where appropriate.

Community services

  • All staff will wear masks, check in using the ServiceWA or SafeWA app or attendance sheet, and have their temperatures checked.
  • Activ customers are required to wear masks and check in using the ServiceWA or SafeWA app or attendance sheet at Activ’s community hubs.
  • *Visitors are required to wear masks, provide proof of vaccination and check in using the ServiceWA or SafeWA app or attendance sheet and have their temperatures checked.

Employment services

  • All staff and supported employees will wear Activ provided masks, and check in using the ServiceWA or SafeWA app or attendance sheet.
  • Temperature checks are required if someone appears unwell or has COVID-like symptoms. Random temperature checks will also take place.
  • *Visitors are required to wear masks, provide proof of vaccination and check in using the ServiceWA or SafeWA app or attendance sheet, and have their temperatures checked.

*Please be mindful that Activ staff are currently taking on an additional important role of enforcing the WA Government measures, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our customers. This includes making sure visitors are wearing masks, providing proof of vaccination, checking in and having their temperatures checked. Activ staff must comply with these WA Government introduced measures every time for every visitor. We kindly request that visitors understand this requirement and treat our staff with respect and courtesy. If you are not comfortable with a request made of you by an Activ staff member in relation to COVID-19 safety requirements, please email health@activ.asn.au or phone 0429 234 917.
