COVID-19 Service and Policy Update – masks required at employment services and central services sites

Western Australia is currently experiencing high daily COVID-19 case numbers, and we have noticed an increase in COVID-19 positive presentations at Activ sites.

To help to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff, supported employees, customers and visitors, as of Monday 16 May 2022, it is a requirement for all Activ staff, supported employees and visitors to wear Activ-supplied masks at central services and employment services sites.

From now until Monday we encourage mask wearing at central services and employment services sites.

At this time, there are no changes to the current mask-wearing rules at accommodation and community services sites.

At Activ’s employment services sites, supported employees with a medical exemption related to their inability to wear a mask should speak to their employee coordinator.

Important additional COVID-safe measures

If you are unwell, you must not attend the workplace, isolate at home and undertake RATs daily.

If symptoms continue (with negative RATs) we recommend you present for a PCR test to confirm the result, due to the higher accuracy rates of PCR tests.

It is also important that social distancing, good hygiene practices, and staggered meal breaks are maintained wherever possible at your workplace.

We will continue to closely monitor and respond to daily COVID-19 case numbers and WA Government advice, and if necessary we will review the restrictions in place.
