Activ Bentley joins the fight against the coronavirus

Activ Business Services Bentley supported employees are doing their part to support the fight against the coronavirus in Western Australia.

Those supported employees who have exercised their right to continue to work during the pandemic have been preparing 50,000 packs of disposable cutlery for use by WA hotels used as accommodation for people in coronavirus isolation and quarantine. They also prepared disposable cutlery packs for crew and passengers who were in self-quarantine on board cruise ships that were docked at Fremantle port.

The public is often surprised to learn of the range of work undertaken at Activ’s employment sites.

While airline work such as refurbishing headsets and packing cutlery and water bottles has reduced significantly due to the closure of our borders during the coronavirus pandemic, supported employees are still busy doing everything from labelling imported British grocery items, packing rehydration solution for the mining industry and sports sector, preparing mailouts and assembling timber bed bases.

Activ’s employment sites remain open and operational, with strict adherence to all guidelines provided by the relevant authorities. Stringent health and hygiene practices are in place, which are reviewed daily to ensure they can be understood and followed by all staff members and supported employees. Many supported employees have decided to take leave or temporarily stop receiving Activ services, and as a result, social distancing has become even easier.

Where supported employees have chosen to work, we have implemented many measures to ensure the safety of both our supported employees and staff.
