Activ is excited to announce that Activ Business Services Bunbury has been awarded with a two-year contract for pallet supply from BGC.
Across BGC’s six manufacturing sites in WA, it is anticipated that Activ will produce about 40 000 pallets per year for BGC. Key manufacturing sites include Midland Brick in South Guildford, BGC Cement in Naval Base and BGC Plasterboard in Hazelmere.
Activ’s Executive Manager Operations, Amanda Lovelock, said Activ is incredibly happy to have been awarded such a significant contract by a leading WA company, with the team delivering their first truck load of pallets to BGC yesterday.
“Activ Business Services provide quality products and services to commercial customers like BGC whilst also providing meaningful employment for people with disability,” Amanda said.
“I am very proud that our team have secured this contract, and that our supported employees will be manufacturing goods to support one of WA’s largest and most established building and construction companies. Contracts like this help to normalise our place in the industry, while giving people of all abilities the opportunity to explore their independence at work.”
BGC CEO Daniel Cooper says he is proud to be appointing Activ to support BGC’s operations in Western Australia.
“Activ provide an essential service here in WA and so we are very happy to be bringing them into the BGC supply chain for our manufacturing sites across WA,” said Daniel.
“As a family-owned group here in WA, BGC is a proud member of the WA community. As a member of that community it is our responsibility to find opportunities like this where our business activity can be more meaningful for more people beyond our immediate stakeholders.”
Activ staff and supported employees enjoyed a morning tea to celebrate the new contract, as the team delivered their first truck load of pallets to BGC.
