COVID Safety Plan

All Activ sites have updated their COVID Safety Plans to reflect the Stage 4 Restrictions. The plan adheres to WA State Government requirements, and clearly identifies the number of people permitted on site at any one time.

Maximum number of people on site & distance between people

All sites must adhere to the 2sqm per person capacity rule.

Worksafe WA have advised that the 1.5m physical distancing requirement remains in place, where practicable. In situations where 1.5m distancing is determined by the COM/Site Manager to not be practical, extra emphasis should be given to proactive hand hygiene and environmental cleaning.

Avoidance of unnecessary physical contact – handshakes, hugs etc. – is strongly encouraged.

Visitors to Activ sites

All visitors must continue to complete the health survey upon arrival, have their temperature checked and follow standard hygiene protocols.

Transport of customers

Across all services, Activ is returning to passenger numbers as per seatbelt limits.

If in a vehicle there are less passengers than the number of seatbelts, passengers are required to be spaced as far away from each other as possible.
As per the most recent WA Government guidelines, all vehicle cleaning and hygiene practices are to remain in place, such as the wiping down of frequently touched surfaces (handles, gearstick, steering wheel etc.). Windows should also be kept down when possible, and trip distances are to be limited where possible.

This applies to all vehicles including vehicles in accommodation, community, employment/business services, property care and head office.

Accommodation

We still request families/carers to contact sites to book visits in advance so we can maintain appropriate numbers. All staff and visitors to our supported accommodation homes are required to undertake the health survey, and a record of visitors must still be maintained by each house. All current cleaning and hygiene practices remain in place.

Visits outside the home must adhere to current health advice regarding physical distancing and hygiene requirements. Staff and customers must also follow any rules provided by the destination point.

Visits or overnight stays to the family home are encouraged. Families must sign the health screening questionnaire on pick up and drop off. Where Activ staff provide transport for the customer to go home (and/or return trip), we will continue to ask the family to complete the health survey when we arrive.

Short Term Accommodation (STA)

STA sites are now reopening across Activ with increased capacity.
Regular cleaning and other hygiene related practices are to remain, as well as a weekly deep clean, aligning with current state government advice for non-healthcare settings.

Community

Community outings are encouraged on the basis that all proposed activities adhere to Activ policies and procedures (e.g. transport) and current health advice regarding physical distancing and hygiene requirements. All current cleaning and hygiene practices remain in place.

Employment

Employment services will continue to operate, complying with the updated guidelines for social distancing outlined above.

In accordance with Worksafe WA guidelines, where it is determined that adhering to 1.5m social distancing requirements is not practical for certain jobs or tasks, the COM/Site Manager must provide authorisation for staff and/or supported employees to work without 1.5m social distancing. Should this occur, extra emphasis should be given to proactive hand hygiene and environmental cleaning.

All current cleaning and hygiene practices remain in place and visitors to site must continue to complete the health survey.
