COVID-19 – service and policy update 30 April

The WA Government has announced several COVID-safe interim restrictions for the Perth and Peel regions, starting 12.01am Saturday 1 May and ending at 12:01am Saturday 8 May.

The following updates to services will only apply if there are no cases of community transmission found, as per the WA Department of Health’s advice. If there are further cases of community transmission found during the course of the week, we will communicate changes to you as soon as possible.

As always, our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our customers and staff.

Please read below how these interim restrictions will affect Activ’s services in the Perth and Peel regions.

Accommodation services

Accommodation services will continue to remain open with the following restrictions in place:

  • Staff will continue to wear masks at all times on site. Customers are encouraged to do so as well.
  • Visits to accommodation houses will now be allowed, provided that all visitors are from the same household. Masks are recommended for visitors.
  • Visitors will have to have their temperatures checked, fill in a declaration and check in using the SafeWA app or sign-in sheet.
  • Any indoor private gatherings will be capped at 30 people.
  • Transport of customers in vehicles is permitted, provided everyone wears a mask, unless an exemption is in place.

Short-term accommodation (STA) services

STA will continue to take bookings. All staff will be wearing masks, and the 2sqm social distancing rule applies at STA sites.

Community services

1:1 community supports and group community services will continue to operate.

From Saturday 1 May, the following restrictions apply at Activ’s community hubs and in group or 1:1 community services:

  • Masks are mandatory at Activ’s community hubs and in other public indoor spaces. Masks are also mandatory in outdoor public spaces where social distancing cannot be maintained. If you have an exemption, or do not wish to wear a mask, you will need to speak us to discuss an alternative arrangement.
  • Staff and customers must wear Activ-provided masks at Activ’s community sites.
  • Social distancing and good hygiene practices will remain in place.
  • All community sites will now adhere to the one person per 2sqm rule. We will closely monitor the number of people at our community sites at any one time, to ensure we adhere to this rule.
  • Transport of customers in vehicles is permitted, provided everyone wears a mask, unless an exemption is in place.
  • Customers are required to use the SafeWA app or attendance sheet when attending a community hub.

Employment services

Employment services will continue to operate as they are now.

The following restrictions apply:

  • Masks are mandatory. If you have an exemption, or do not wish to wear a mask, you will need to speak with us to discuss an alternative arrangement with you.
  • Staff and supported employees must wear Activ-provided masks at Activ’s employment sites.
  • As a worksite, supported employment sites are exempt from the one person per 2sqm rule. However, existing social distancing and good hygiene practices will remain in place.
  • Transport of customers in vehicles is permitted, provided everyone wears a mask, unless an exemption is in place.
  • Supported employees are required to use the SafeWA app or attendance sheet when attending an employment site.
