COVID-19 update: Transitional restrictions for Activ services

The WA Government has announced the five-day lockdown will end at 6pm Friday 5 February. However, some COVID-safe measures will remain until 12.01am Sunday 14 February.

The following updates to Activ services will only apply if there are no cases of community transmission found, as per the WA Department of Health’s advice. If there are further cases of community transmission found during the course of the week, we will communicate changes as soon as possible.

As always, our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our customers and staff.

Activ South West services

All of our services in the South West region will return to normal, with no restrictions in place.

Activ Perth metro and Peel region services

All of our services in the Perth metro and Peel region will begin to reopen from Saturday 6 February, with restrictions in place for each service area, as outlined below:

Accommodation services

Accommodation services will continue to remain open with the following restrictions in place:

  • Staff working in accommodation houses will continue to wear masks at all times on site.
  • Customers are encouraged to wear masks as well, which will be provided by Activ.
  • Visits to accommodation houses can only be on compassionate grounds.
  • Transport of customers in vehicles is permitted, provided everyone wears a mask, unless an exemption is in place.

Short term accommodation (STA) services

  • STA will take bookings again, starting from Monday 8 February 2021.

Community services

Our 1:1 community supports will recommence from Saturday 6 February 2021. Our group community activities will recommence from Monday 15 February 2021. The following restrictions apply:

  • Masks are mandatory. If you have an exemption, or do not wish to wear a mask, you will need to speak with us. We will discuss an alternative arrangement with you.
  • All masks worn at an Activ site must adhere to Activ’s standards. Homemade masks will not be permitted on Activ sites.
  • Social distancing and good hygiene practices will remain in place.
  • All sites will adhere to the one person per 4sqm rule.
  • Transport of customers in vehicles is permitted, provided everyone wears a mask, unless an exemption is in place.

Employment services

Employment services will reopen on Monday 8 February 2021. The following restrictions apply:

  • Masks are mandatory and will be provided by Activ. If you have an exemption, or do not wish to wear a mask, you will need to speak with us. We will discuss an alternative arrangement with you. You can contact your employment coordinator about this on Monday.
  • All masks worn at an Activ site must adhere to Activ’s standards. Homemade masks will not be permitted on Activ sites.
  • Social distancing and good hygiene practices will remain in place.
  • All sites will adhere to the one person per 4sqm rule.
  • Transport of customers in vehicles is permitted, provided everyone wears a mask, unless an exemption is in place.
