Resignation of Activ CEO Danielle Newport

Resignation of Activ CEO Danielle Newport

From the Chair, Neil Guard

It is with regret that I announce the resignation of Danielle Newport, chief executive officer and managing director of Activ. After nearly 10 years at Activ, including five years in the role of chief executive officer and managing director, Danielle has decided to leave her employment with Activ to pursue other opportunities.

Danielle joined Activ as its chief financial officer in 2011 and since joining has also served as general manager of strategy and finance (2013 – 2014) and general manager strategy (2014 – 2016), before being appointed to the position of chief executive officer and managing director in April 2016.

The board acknowledges the significant contribution Danielle has made to Activ over the 10-year period, and we sincerely thank Danielle for her commitment and service to the organisation and to all our customers that we support.

Over the past five years as CEO, Danielle has led Activ through a period of unprecedented change in the disability sector. This has included the establishment of the Disability Royal Commission, transition to the National Disability Insurance Scheme, the commencement of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, and of course the challenges of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Of equal significance, Danielle was instrumental in the development of Activ’s Independence strategy and has set solid foundations that will enable Activ to successfully transform and deliver on our strategy of proven pathways to independence for people living with intellectual disability.

Danielle will leave Activ on 15 July 2021.

The board has commenced the process for recruiting a new CEO and will be doing everything we can to ensure a smooth transition.

Please join us in wishing Danielle well for the future.
