Behaviour support is an evidence based approach to supporting people with disability who sometimes display challenging behaviour. It looks to improve the person’s quality of life by understanding why they engage in the behaviour. This understanding helps address unmet needs and builds skills to reduce challenging behaviours.
How we can help
Activ is an NDIS registered provider of Specialist Behavioural Intervention Support (intensive interventions to address significantly harmful or persistent behaviours) and Behaviour Management Plans (behaviour support plan and training in strategies). The Behaviour Support Team offers services to internal and external customers.

Meet the team
Philippa Maczkowiak – Clinical Governance Manager
Bachelor of Social Work, Post Graduate Health Service Management
Philippa is a Social Worker with more than 35 years’ experience in the area of health and disability. She has worked as a practitioner and senior manager within the government and not for profit sector. Key work domains have included allied health, health, disability services, aged care, rehabilitation and community service management. Philippa supervises and oversees the behaviour support consultants.
Kristy Moe – Senior Behaviour Support Consultant/ Occupational Therapist
BA Science (Health Sciences); Master Occupational Therapy
Kristy has been working in the area of human services and disability for more than 15 years including mental health, vocational rehabilitation, workers’ compensation/injury management, disability employment services, pain management, business development and clinical occupational therapy. Kristy can assist by completing functional behavioural assessments, home and worksite assessments including equipment prescription, functional capacity assessments (PWPE qualified) as well as individual and group therapy. She is also experienced at mentoring and leading teams and has a passion for effective case management.
Nicola Peacock – Behaviour Support Consultant
MA Counselling and Psychotherapy; Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Nicola Peacock has extensive experience in working with people of all ages with a wide range of disabilities and mental health conditions. Through her experience as a support worker, she understands the importance of working collaboratively with staff and families. Nicola is a person centred counsellor with seven years’ post graduate experience. Nicola can assist by completing functional behavioural assessments and writing behaviour support plans and safety plans. Nicola has a Certificate III in Disability and is a qualified Management of Actual or Potential Aggression (MAPA) Foundation Instructor.
